Primer is tough to give three stars to; it feels like it ought to be more. It is very different and has upstart indie spirit. But IMO, Primer does not do enough of a job telling the story and leaves too much work to the viewers (a lot information is simply missing, as opposed to open to interpretation). If you enjoyed the TV series Lost, how it leaves its mysteries unexplained, then the same thing in Primer probably will not bother you (and there are sites about how to interpret it). For myself, while I enjoyed both Primer and Lost, at the same time felt personally dissatisfied. Nonetheless, if you are at all curious, I recommend it; it is different and intriguing.
