Both films are rather low-budget and both make the most of what they have available. Panic views like a stage play, and is a window into the morals and fears of fifty years ago. The Last Man is about the peculiarly endearing solitude of the title character played by Vincent Price. Both are great for lazy Saturday / Sunday afternoon viewing.
